Less than two months to the end of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s tenure as President, he has appointed the Minister of State in charge of Energy as the substantive Minister of Energy, Herbert Krapa effective Tuesday, November 19, 2024, generating both praise and criticism.
But the President in appointing Mr Krapa has explained why despite the prevailing circumstances, he has chosen to make Mr Krapa a full Minister of Energy.
The President’s reasons are Mr Krapa’s, hardwork and show of leadership, his exceptional diligence, professionalism and his steadfast commitment to his duties as Minister of State in charge of Energy.
These attributes, the President noted, have contributed to the progress and stability in Ghana’s energy sector and it is for this that the President has reposed such enormous confidence in him to deliver as Minister of Energy.
“Mr Krapa served as Minister of State at the Energy Ministry since his appointment on 15th July 2024 and, according to the President, has demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism and a steadfast commitment to his duties, contributing significantly to the progress and stability of Ghana’s energy sector.
In recognition of his hardwork and leadership , President Akufo-Addo is confident that Mr Krapa will continue to distinguish himself in his new role, ensuring the continued growth and transformation of the energy sector in service to the nation,” a statement announcing Mr Krapa’s appointment signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Office of the President said.
