Global lifestyle and wellness company QNET has been commended by the Economic and Organised Crime Office, EOCO, for the collaborative efforts that resulted in the arrest of 320 people allegedly involved in activities misrepresenting and misusing QNET’s name and products in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
This is the second time in a few weeks that QNET is directly and actively supporting EOCO’s efforts in dismantling human trafficking and recruitment scams that falsely operated under the company’s name.
EOCO acknowledged and commended the QNET’s efforts and in a statement from its Public Affairs Department, said: “EOCO is working closely with QNET to clamp down on the misuse of their brand name to traffic and defraud innocent individuals. We commend the collaborative efforts of QNET in this regard and look forward to continued cooperation to bring perpetrators to justice.”
As part of the Public Education Roadshow and collaborative efforts with EOCO to provide accurate information to the media and the general public about QNET and its business model, the company organised a Product Workshop specifically for the media, at the Lancaster Hotel in Kumasi. The Product Workshop and joint operations to arrest scammers are part of the agreed collaboration between QNET and EOCO.
The Workshop enabled journalists to ask questions and obtain answers about QNET, identify some of its products and understand how it conducts its direct selling business. Notably, many journalists can now distinguish QNET from the activities of scammers and criminals who defraud innocent people.
Over recent years, the company has ramped up compliance operations in Ghana and across West Africa, introducing training programmes, reporting channels, and joint enforcement efforts to prevent fraud.
She concluded: “QNET operates a legitimate direct selling business model. We empower people, we do not deceive. We sell tangible products transparently and ethically. These products are available on our website. We detest any form of deception or exploitation. Unethical marketing practices and deceptions are strictly prohibited under its Code of Conduct for independent distributors who sell the company’s products.”
EOCO assures the public of its continued commitment to fighting economic and organised crime, and urges citizens to report any suspicious activities to our offices.
QNET also advises that the public to stay alert and verify any opportunity claiming affiliation with QNET by contacting its Compliance Hotline via WhatsApp at +233 2566 30005 or email network.integrity@qnet.net
