PRINPAG Opens Nominations for 2025 National Executive Elections

Only members in good standing are eligible to vote, and those with outstanding dues have until July 31, 2025 to settle their payments

The Election Committee of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has officially released the schedule and procedures for its highly anticipated 2025 National Executive Elections, emphasizing transparency, fairness, and adherence to constitutional guidelines.

In a press statement signed by Election Administrator, Lawyer Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie, the Committee announced that nominations for all executive positions will open on Monday, July 14, 2025, and close on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Only members in good standing as of the opening day are eligible to contest for office or vote.

Positions Open for Election

The following five key positions are up for grabs:

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Organizing Secretary
  4. Public Affairs and External Relations Officer
  5. Financial Secretary

Vetting and Campaign Guidelines

All aspiring candidates are required to undergo a physical vetting exercise on Friday, July 25, 2025. The results of the vetting will be published the same day. The campaign period will then officially commence on Saturday, July 26, 2025, continuing until Election Day. Candidates are urged to run professional and issue-based campaigns.

Voter Eligibility and Register

Only members in good standing are eligible to vote, and those with outstanding dues have until July 31, 2025 to settle their payments. A full voter register will be published on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Election Petitions

Petitions related to the electoral process will be accepted within three days after the announcement of official results. The Committee assures that all petitions will be addressed within 24 hours and that its decisions will be final and binding.

The Election Committee reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the integrity of the election and urged all members to engage actively and responsibly in the process.

Other members of the PRINPAG Election Committee include Desmond Darko (Deputy Administrator) and Nimatu Yakubu Atuoyese (Secretary).
