After a silent prayer from his personal pastor Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, actor and filmmaker Lil Win (Kwadwo Nkansah) has taken off his neck brace, appearing to be instantly healed.
The spectacle took place during a church service at the Believers Worship Centre, founded and led by prophet Kyei-Duah, who put his hands on Lil Win’s shoulders, declared him “free,” sighed heavily and, confident of an immediate healing, instructed the actor to “take off” the neck brace. Lil Win promptly obeyed and to demonstrate his miraculous healing, began to flex his neck muscles. The congregation roared in joy while his team members applauded.
Lil Win put the neck brace on after his road accident on May 25, 2024.
The accident happened at Amakom, Kumasi, near the Kumasi Technical University, when Lil Win’s A Country Called Ghana-branded Mercedes Benz sedan ran into a white Hyundai SUV, resulting in the leg injury of the man at the SUV’s wheel and the tragic death of his 3-year-old son, Nana Yaw.
According to eyewitnesses, including a woman whose car was also damaged, Lil Win, who was on his way to the Kumasi premier of his A Country Called Ghana movie, was overspeeding in the congested area.
Oddly, the actor carried on to his Saturday night event, proceeding also to a thanksgiving programme on Sunday. He later checked into a hospital.
On June 3, upon his discharge, he was arrested by police from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command. This was after incessant complaints by Nana Yaw’s parents and family.
Charged with dangerous driving and negligently causing harm, the Kumawood star was arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court, eventually obtaining a GHS50,000 bail with two sureties.
On Thursday, June 27, when Lil Win reappeared in court, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Emelia Owusu Ansah informed the court the docket had been sent to Attorney-General Godfred Dame’s department for review. Presiding Judge Samuel Buabin Quansah, thus, adjourned the trial till July 29 anticipating receipt of the AG’s advice.
Two days after, in a video on his Instagram (IG), the actor-turned-singer, appearing helpless in a hospital bed, was, however, seen recording music with Hiplife stars Kweku Flick and King Paluta. For caption, he recalled the tragic accident, prayed for Nana Yaw’s peace in death, a replacement for his parents, and thanked his fans, the said Hiplife artistes and music producer Apya.
