In application of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s High Instructions reflecting the Utmost Regard in which He consistently holds the citizens under different circumstances, especially in providing all forms of support and assistance to those affected, Morocco’s government has launched a program to rehabilitate the areas hit by the exceptional floods that struck Safi on Sunday, December 14, 2025, following the unprecedented torrential rain that has caused human losses and material damage to infrastructure and essential equipment across several neighborhoods.

As part of a comprehensive approach, the program is based on a set of measures to help ensure a rapid and efficient intervention, as well as immediate response to the affected populations’ needs, says the Head of Government’s department in a press release.

The program includes a series of urgent measures designed to immediately alleviate the impact of the catastrophe. It provides emergency aid to families who lost personal belongings and addresses damaged homes through necessary restoration work, as well as the reconstruction, repair and renovation of the damaged commercial buildings, with support extended to their owners. These efforts follow the High Royal Guidelines aimed at preserving the citizens’ dignity, ensuring decent living conditions and strengthening resilience.

In this respect, in accordance with His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s High Guidelines, different human and logistical resources have been mobilized, while strengthening coordination among the relevant stakeholders, says the same source.

Local authorities, it notes, will start implementing the various measures and efforts planned as soon and efficient as possible, with the aim of ensuring rapid intervention and interaction with the affected populations’ needs, and guarantee the sound and gradual execution of the various axes of the program.

This program once more reflects the sense of commitment and duty in addressing the impacts of natural disasters. It embodies the Utmost Care His Majesty the King extends to citizens, as well as the keenness to remain close to them and listen to their concerns, in order to meet their essential needs. It also forms part of a solidarity-driven approach aimed at ensuring sustainable recovery and strengthening the prevention of future risks
