The Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering essential character traits for good citizenship in youth, is set to host the 2025 edition of its annual Character Education Training Programme in Accra next week. This flagship initiative aims to equip educators from Northern Ghana with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to successfully implement character education in their schools.

The intensive three-day program will welcome educators and school administrators from selected institutions in Northern Ghana. Participants will engage in a series of insightful presentations, panel discussions, and experience-sharing sessions. These interactive sessions are designed to explore practical strategies for integrating character education seamlessly into both classroom learning and the broader school culture.

A key highlight of the training is the participation of an experienced consultant from Strata Leadership (USA), who brings decades of global expertise in facilitating character education sessions. The collaborative environment will encourage an open exchange of ideas, allowing participants to harness their collective insights to enrich their school curricula and culture.

Benefits for Participating Educators

Attendees of this year’s program are poised to gain significant and lasting benefits. Educators and school administrators will develop a deeper understanding of the principles of character education and its practical application. They will also acquire specialized teaching methodologies, skills, resources, and tools tailored to nurture positive character traits in students, leading to a more holistic and impactful educational experience.

Furthermore, the training offers a valuable opportunity for participants to network with like-minded character educators and join an inspired community of schools committed to character development, fostering mutual support in their initiatives.

A National Call to Action

The Kofi A. Tawiah Foundation emphasizes that character education extends beyond mere school reform; it is a national call to action. The foundation believes that building a prosperous Ghana requires intentional efforts to instill core values in learners and young people. This responsibility is not solely for teachers but must be embraced by parents, community leaders, faith-based organizations, NGOs, policymakers, and every well-meaning citizen. The initiative urges everyone to become ambassadors of good character, actively raising a generation grounded in honesty, discipline, punctuality, and civic responsibility, recognizing that the nation’s character ultimately reflects the character of its people.
