The African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) in Accra, Ghana, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, USA. The partnership aims to foster long-term collaboration in academic, cultural, and entrepreneurial initiatives between the two institutions.

“We believe that Ghanaians, everybody has the opportunity to study outside. And when you finish, you wouldn’t want to stay outside because you come back home and create opportunities for ourselves,” said Professor Abeku Blankson, Vice Chancellor of AUCB.

The partnership will create opportunities for students from both institutions to study abroad and gain valuable experiences. The MOU explores innovative models which would allow students to split their studies between the two institutions. This will enable students to benefit from the strengths of both institutions and gain a global perspective.

The partnership is expected to promote academic exchange, cultural understanding, and entrepreneurship between Ghana and the United States. It will also provide opportunities for students to network and build relationships with peers and professionals from diverse backgrounds.

Professor Blankson emphasized that the partnership will not lead to significant fee increases for students and that efforts will be made to ensure that the program remains affordable. “We are very cautious of the fact that we also don’t want to lose our students,” he said.
