Akufo-Addo commissions new Bank of Ghana Headquarters
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned the new state-of-the-art headquarters of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) in Accra, marking a significant milestone in the Central Bank’s efforts to enhance its operations and service delivery.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, brought together key government officials, Bank of Ghana executives, and prominent figures from Ghana’s financial sector.
In his address, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of the new facility in modernizing Ghana’s financial infrastructure.
He commended the Bank of Ghana for its commitment to innovation and efficiency in its operations, stating, “This new headquarters will serve as the new command centre for the bank’s operations. Fostering innovation, collaboration and excellence in its service to the nation.
“It will also reinforce the bank’s capacity for advance critical financial sector reforms, enhance regulatory frameworks and improve the investment climate for both domestic and international stakeholders,” he stated.
The cutting-edge facility is expected to strengthen the Central Bank’s capacity to regulate and oversee Ghana’s financial system effectively.
It also represents the government’s broader agenda to promote economic stability and create an enabling environment for growth in the financial sector.

The new headquarters comes as part of the Bank of Ghana’s strategy to keep pace with advancements in financial management and governance.
