President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Herbert Krapa as the Minister for Energy months after his appointment as the Minister of State for Energy.
He replaces Matthew Opoku Premeph who exited the position to run alongside Flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for Presidency.
A statement issued by the Director of Communication at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin on Wednesday, announced the appointment by the President effective November 19.
“Mr. Krapa has served as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy since his appointment on 15th July 2024, and, according to the President, has demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism and a steadfast commitment to his duties, contributing significantly to the progress and stability of Ghana’s energy sector.”
The statement affirmed the President’s confidence in Mr. Krapa.
“In recognition of his hard work and leadership, President Akufo-Addo is confident that Mr. Krapa will continue to distinguish himself in his new role, ensuring the continued growth and transformation of the energy sector in service to the nation.”
