GFA bus donation a ‘blessing in disguise’ – Ebusua Dwarfs

The Operations Director of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, Dad Simpson, has expressed surprise at criticisms from some Division One clubs regarding the buses donated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The GFA, led by President Kurt Okraku, presented buses to nine Division One clubs during a ceremony at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 20. The donation fulfilled a promise made by Okraku at the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi in 2023.

In an interview with Citi News, Dad Simpson described the gesture as a “blessing in disguise” for financially struggling clubs.

He emphasized the significant impact the buses would have on club operations, particularly in easing the burden of transportation logistics.

with the condition I don’t think we will have any problem with it. The only minor problem we have is to create middle seats so that they can contain the number that we want. It’s so economical. I’m kind of excited about a gift like this from the FA.

“Maybe some of them, I don’t know, but for Dwarfs, we don’t have any issues. It will give us a good opportunity to save enough money. You know things in Ghana, when you don’t have money it’s a problem.

“We bought fuel GHS1,000 from Accra and when we got to Cape Coast we used only GHS500. Meanwhile, our old bus, Accra to Cape Coast will cost us over GHS2,000. So for us, it’s a blessing in disguise.”
